I stack as many items which replenish health either on hit or %life left that I can find, even at the cost of DPS. There are also items like the Guardsmans Pauldrons which can spawn pretty early on which adds a similar type of effect. I find this absolutely invaluable for HC play. Menhir's Will, a Soldier ability will kick in when you hit low enough health and instantly heal you, giving you a massive health regen for a time. You can also farm faction favor to access their better gear, which is often good enough to see you through some unlucky loot drops.Īlso, there are pieces of gear, devotions, and skills that can instantly save you from death.
The difference between 20% damage reduction and 80% is massive. Don't be afraid to farm all the shops you can on loop until you find useful gear. I agree this makes the game have some crazy difficulty spikes, but it all boils down to resistances.įigure out what type of damage the boss is doing, then look for gear, components, and even augments that increase the resistances to that type of damage. You can't outlevel bosses, but you can outlevel areas.
